Was an entertaining game, SMU just waited too long to start playing ball....Got really exciting when they were down by 16 and then came charging back to close it to within 3.

Just no scoring in the first half. Would have liked to see more from Dia, he was playing good and Bamba was getting pushed around, I guess Dia does not have the conditioning to play many minutes in a row.

Team showed some good things against a tough opponent. Need to win these next 4 games coming up and then we will have some confidence.

utep is tough, but at home you like to see us not get down 16 points and have to come back from that far down. Lots more missed free throws and some bad turnovers though our guys played hard. But in the end, we had one athlete like mohamed faye and utep had about 4 or 5. just not enough firepower.

i thought all the starters plus Papa played pretty well really. McCoy was playing dang good defense on some of those shots that Jackson hit in the first half. I still think Doh subbed too much, especially midway through the first half when utep took advantage. oh well, enjoyed the game tonight, good hoops.

I wish SMU would not wait until they are down by 16 to start doing what works best for them....have McCoy and Williams drive the lane and put up the shot if it is there, or kick it out for a spot up 3....that is what got us back in the game....that needs to be the cornerstone of the offense.

If we could have just played better in the first half and took advantage of UTEP being cold, we would have had a much better chance. Bamba had a really bad game...and SMU missed too many free throws and UTEP made all theirs and some key shots down the stretch.

The guys fought hard. A year ago, they might have folded up, but the heart we showed tonight was impressive, and encouraging as we go forward.

Bamba looks worse this year...even the UTEP fans behind me commented on how soft he looked. The point blank lay-up misses are killer...
