College recruiting has progressed to the point now that many of the top recruits commit up to a year before their senior year signing date. Once the 2009 recruits sign on the dotted line, the next week you will see Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, etc. get commitments from as many as 14 to 18 kids. The majority of their prospects have already been identified, offered, and ready to go for months now. Texas is one of the exceptions as they wait until their "Junior Day" to officially offer junior recruits. With the kind of national exposure these kids get through summer camps, 7 on 7, and the rabid following of Rivals and Scout, recruiting has become a year round ordeal. An early signing date would allow the coaches to concentrate their efforts more on actually coaching their team and the kids to put recruiting behind them and enjoy their senior year.
Back off Warchild seriously.
