happened to you? "Oh, SMU is on TV tonight...cool, a rare chance to see my mighty Mustangs." You clear your schedule, early dinner, favorite chair, tasty cocktail, etc., etc....be it fball or bball, a sense of excitement! But, two minutes, five minutes, ten minutes into the experience, you realize that once again, for about the 200th. time, 1).you are in for a looooooong evening, 2) we SUCK!! 3). WHAT has freakin' changed??!@#@!!?! Already drinkn' doubles...long live Eric Longino..now he could shoot!!

this is disgusting and I'm being nice. We are soooo much more athletic, but have no basketball instincts and limited skill. One of the worst displays of shooting I've seen in all of college hoops this year. Sad
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

Eff the offense, just let Williams/McCoy go to the hole. Williams can get there at will tonight. Boy, we play awful man D

yes...I remember being in Moody when we beat Texas to win the SWC regular season championship...but then in classic SMU style went on to lose in the 1st round of the SWC Tourney and 1st round in NCAA Tourney.

what's scary is that's exactly what should happen

How many titles did they win? But, you are right, at least we were "somewhat" competitive....

here's a question for you: when was the last time you were "satisfied" with the season SMU had in either football or basketball? I know that has to go back to BEFORE the death penalty for me. We consistently disappoint and fail to meet expectations. Even in our "better" seasons, we've finished on a disappointing note

starts with Sun Bowl defeat at hands of Alabama
plenty of miserable "we are the worst team" seasons
finally a SWC Bball title...and 1st round tourney losses
then finally a winning football season...and a loss to 0-10 TCU
skip to the Sasser years and post season appearance...1st round loss

there aren't many of us, but an argument can be made that we are among the most hard core loyal fans that any college athletics program in the country has

Football was after the 1992 season...bball, probably 92-93 season,...that was good year. Amazing how that was also the RECORD Mustang Club giving year, even though I have seen some revisionists MC totals of late...MC raisied $1.500m+...weird how that happens....
