This is a scout.com link I saw that says the third Poynter brother is breaking Ben and Tommy's tradition of walking-on at SMU. He apparently has opted to walk-on at Rice next fall to play quarterback...he must be the skinny one...

So, Michael could do worse.
yeah, winning sucks
Yeah, graduating with a degree from Rice instead of TCU (or SMU) sucks, too.

Remember, deepellumfrog, that these are, first and foremost, academic institutions, and, considering the slim chances of an NFL career, the diploma Michael will receive after 4+ years is a hell of a lot more important than the number of snaps he'll take for the Owls.
Besides, Justin didn't play football for TCU. He was just a lowly TCU student. I say lowly because, let's face it, the only reason you go to TCU as a student is because you couldn't get into Rice, UT, TAMU, SMU, or even Baylor, Trinity, or Southwestern.
TCU is a good school, though. I really believe that. Honest.

Rice won 10 games last year, so maybe it wasn't them I was talking about.
