Remi Ayodele

Postby Ponymon » Thu Nov 27, 2003 5:14 pm

This kid is a juco, 4 star rated lineman (by Rivals) from Grand Prairie who originally committed to Purdue out of high school because of his brother. He is 6'3" 301 lbs and runs a 5 second 40. He bench presses 345 lbs and squats 490. He was the 7th highest rated DT in Texas when he graduated from high school, but did not have the grades to make it into Purdue at the time. Currently Remi attends NE Oklahoma A&M. Rivals says he is not a lock for Purdue and is looking at all other options. Besides Purdue he lists Oklahoma State and Washington State on his list. This is the type of kid that we should be in on given his local connection. Grades, of course, would be the sticking point. However, if he is good enough to get into Purdue, he should be more than qualified to make it into SMU!

Transferable Hours.

How many TRANSFERABLE HOURS does he have? you need 48.

P.E. only counts for 2 hours at SMU, anymore hours do not count towards graduation.

Purdue/OSU/atm/UT etc...all the top state schools for that matter, have Aggie-Economics and Aggie-Accounting degrees under 'lesser' departments -- we do not.

I'd love to see us sign a kid like that. I'd also love to see LeBron James give back all his income and give Coach Dement a call, saying he wants to go to college after all.

in recruiting, if the kid has any offers its not what the "recruit has to have to get into SMU"- its the what the "School has to offer" that counts. Hence 0-12. Maybe we could ask him to write a term paper and beg for admittance before the faculty. I'm sure several top recruits with offers from even one other school must have laughed in our coaches faces due to the arrogance of our policies.

Our policies have changed. the only issue is the transferable hours.

Oh I didn't know we were recruiting any JCs but QBs. SMU is not mentioned by another single JC player in the country but we have had a shot at about 3 of the Top JC QBs. Please deal with reality.

The only "Policy" that could change is academic curriculum.

Bull****-there is an unwritten policy to limit the recruitment of JUCOs and anybody that follows recruiting knows it. The day SMU even goes after another position player I'll be the first to report it. Bennett was thrown a bone and allowed to recruit a JUCO QB. And don't even try to mention Bobby Chase who doesn't even start in JC. He committed to SMU before attending JC and from what I hear was fully qualified in August prior to this season.
