Question about Texas' classI looked at their class on Rivals. About 7-9 are listed as signed letters of intent. The others are still listed as commitments who are signing Feb. 4 and are coming in the summer.
I would gather the signings are from those who enrolled this month, even though they technically haven't signed? I know we talked about this but can't remember what was resolved. Thanks in advance. BTW, I find it interesting that some kids are graduating one day and then starting their summer school classes with their new home 48-72 hours later.
Yes, these kids are all already enrolled at Texas. I'm not exactly sure of the signing date for spring enrollees, but obviously they do it before they become official students.
Back off Warchild seriously.
They sign on the normal signing date, Feb 4, unless they are JUCO graduates. NCAA rules allow them to enroll on scholarship if they are graduated even though technically have not signed a LOI.
Huh. That is interesting. They are not listed that way on Scout.
Not sure how this all works, but FWIW, the only Nebraska player listed as signed is on both and he is the JUCO transfer that enrolled for spring......none of the other kids who already enrolled are listed on either, nor is the other JC kid who is coming in the fall. The Texas kids all appear to be december high school graduates though. Must have something to do with the way each school reports these out to the recruiting services?????
Again, only JUCO mid year transfers actually sign early. The HS kids all sign on the normal signing date. There is no early signing date for HS kids, at least not yet. However, once the enroll they fall under the transfer rules so if they decide to sign with another school after enrolling at school, they would have to sit one year.
Again, the players at Nebraska who are HS December graduates and have already enrolled are not listed as signed. The Texas ones all are. The JUCO transfer at Nebraska who enrolled early is listed as signed on both sites. The Texas players are listed on only one, and they INCLUDE HS December graduates. While your information is correct about the signing date, your theory about why the websites have them listed the way they do is obviously not.
I don't think I promulgated any theory whatsoever as to why the two sites differ on the reporting, so not sure how it could be "obviously not" correct. Had I offerred a theory it would have been on the lines that the Rivals sites wanted to show them as enrolled for purposes of segregating them from the rest of the commits, but had no options available other than to list them as signed in their database.
My post was about the fact that the recruiting websites were reporting signings differently for different schools and differently between the two websites. Not at all about the rules of signing day for different athletes, which I am fully aware of. You quoted it and responded fairly condescendingly.
Quoting my post would indicate that you were responding to the fact that the websites were not reporting similar information. However, both of your posts indicate that you obviously either did not read or comprehend my original post before you retorted to it!
here's a list of all the early enrollees across the country(includes JUCOs-including Clark which I believe is incorrect):
