it's looking like another classic SMU loss; we consistently manage to play just well enough to lose; it really hurts to lose these games at home. I hope that someday SMU gets to enjoy a home court advantage again. Moody has become one of the most hospitable place an opponent can possibly hope to visit.
CP, I think you've had this rant about 5 years going now about crowds.
The crowd was ok - best I've seen this year and probably the best it will be except for the Memphis game....just a guess. The students will give up and not show up after the Rush honeymoon is over.
I assume you are young. Must be to call an "announced crowd" of 3400 OK. I've actually had this rant for 20 years. Post death penalty SMU fans have no idea that we once played big boy football and basketball...and that Moody was a scary place for even Top 20 teams (in those days) to visit. I know you care about SMU athletics...not trying to criticize anyone who supports the program(s). Just hope you get to experience 9k in Moody some day. You will see the difference in the team's energy. We win this game easily with 7500 faithful rocking Moody.
No one is going to experience 9k in Moody again, the gym doesnt hold that many anymore. By moving the press box into what used to be the student section and moving the band into the blue seats, they've lost 3/4ths of the courtside seating, which means capacity is now closer to 8,000.

My friends and I are gonna watch it in the dorms. Anyone know if they're showing it on the network provided by SMU? Thanks.
that is weak, very weak
Nah man, we ended up going to Moody because we didn't have the channel on our TV.
So, you were seriously going to sit in your room and watch TV, when all you had to do to see the game live was walk across campus? Seriously????
Wow! A couple of great dunks by Bamba and a 3 by Williams puts SMU up 59-53.
Yeah, and right after Bamba gave us the lead with 4 baskets in just under 3 minutes, he got yanked................. I really dont understand this, ECU went with a small lineup, and Bamba was killing them..... so he got yanked. geez. that's all I can say, geez.

yep, that was mind boggling. and on top of that, doh all of a sudden decided he need Harp on the floor at crunch time. he was the 10th man off the bench today in the first half so what makes him in your top 5 down the stretch?? not to pick on his stats, but he didnt exactly have a positive impact when he got in. the turnover he had under ECUs basket, which they promptly flushed, was well, not a good thing.

I think Harp was in for foul purposes at the end, or at least that was how it appeared to me.

the best chance to get a steal or turnover is usually on the in bounds pass when the passer is stationary. when faye is not in foul trouble, I just cant imagine taking his long arms and big body off the floor. Oh well, the damage was done before that anyway.

CP -- back to the crowd talk ---
Look, since the Mavs came here in 1980, the Moody Magic ended. I'm glad you got to experience the rockin' times. It just won't happen again, end of story. I've seen Moody packed to capacity with visiting fans, that's about it. Arkansas, Tech, UT, etc.
3500 is a good crowd now which is sad, I agree. I'm just tired of hearing about it - it's not going to change unless we are a Top 25 caliber team - and we are pretty certain that isn't going to happen in the next 2-3 yrs. Let's say we are #10 in the country, I don't see more than 4500-5000 showing up on a regular basis.
