It's pretty simple isn't it? When your players trust each other, everyone understands their roles and has the mental toughness to go with it, that usually spells T-E-A-M.

They didn't shoot well tonight, but again, they found a way to win. Congratulations, Ladies.

Looking forward to bringing the kiddos to Rice on Saturday.

USM is up on Marshall so that will leave SMU and USM tied for first place. If SMU can beat Rice and USM beats ECU, then on 2/5/09 SMU plays at USM to battle for first place

How about a knock-down cold 3 from Brittany Gilliam with 3.4 seconds to win the game!

Man, this was an ugly game. Up by 14 and then the girls went ice cold. Houston jammed the middle with a girl who could bench press Bamba.

I'll tell you, a lesser coached team would not have won tonight. Rhonda made all the right subs at the right time and had the right people on the floor when it counted.

Props to Jillian "JB" Samuels for two huge 3's in the 2nd half to keep Houston from running away with the game.

This was a total team effort, start to finish. It must be maddening to scout and prepare for them as you never know who's going to step up and make the plays.

Great job, ladies. See you Saturday afternoon.

We didn't play very well but well enough to win. Two HUGE 3's in the last 30 seconds of the game. It just seems like this team doesn't panic. Everyone contributed which for me is telling. You really just don't know who's going to be the leading scorer each game. Nice win - congrats to the team. Now beat Rice!
