After mostly sitting two years at SMU, Turner wanted to put that production to use now. Southeastern Oklahoma State needed a quarterback after banishing one and losing another to injury before last season.
Who knows how BLM will perform this year.
Just as big a question to me is if he doesn't, or if he gets injured, what exactly is our Plan B?
We all agree JJ's recruiting should pick up if we are more successful on the field. Seems like we are putting a ton of eggs in the BLM basket.
Padron?
Exactly....another 20+ INT season
thats why its plan B... i think BLM will show improvement expony18 wrote:i would not want to face this offense next year, especially with a QB who has a year under his belt,

so hopefully we won't have to go to plan B or we are in for another long season...

Word from spring training was that Braden looked pretty good. No experience but we are not down to no QBs, just few.

Exactly. I will trust his judgement, at least in this area, more than all of the rest of you folks combined. No offense intended of course.

JJ's system in college. That is why I said in this area. Has nothing to do with the pro game.

Again, JJ didn't draft Leaf. Leaf was inherited. What would you want him to say? Hhey, I got this guy Leaf that needs to be sat down. We really should have drafted that Manning kid.
Way to scramble the facts...

We have not had a Phil reference in far too long

Judging by this past season he has apparently forgotten ALL defenses.

inherited would mean that JJ wasn't there when Leaf was drafted... fact: JJ was the QB coach of the Chargers when Leaf was drafted.

I guess the answer to the question depends on what the job in question is. Are we talking about having Bo lead this team to a few wins? a winning record? A conference championship? Top 25 in everything we do?
I'm convinced that we can get to a winning season with Bo. Beyond that I've got nothing.

Indianapolis drafted Manning first because they liked his character. They asked both he and Leaf what they would do the day after the draft. Leaf said something like party with my friends. Manning said, meet with the coaches and look at the playbook if you'll let me. That sold Indy. If you look at the 1998 draft was there another QB you would have drafted ahead of Leaf, who almost every scout thought had the tools for the NFL? Leaf wanted a check. Manning wanted a career. Manning completed his 10th season this year. Leaf is gone.

I'll take one win over a D-1A school........his decision making has to be light years better than it was last year.
