We played exceptionally well in stretches, but also relaxed too much when we had the lead, and then went cold. At the end people stepped up and did what had to be done to win.
I'd still like to see a good blowout, these close games are giving me high blood pressure.
Southern Miss held on against Marshall, 70-64, so now the lead is down to 2 teams. Both are favored to win on Saturday, making next weeks game the showdown for first place.
Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.

That would be cool if that happened, especially since SMU and Southern Miss. were predicted 1 and 2 in the pre-season rankings.

Such a treat to see ESPN/CBSCollegeSports crawl lines with SMU in the win column. Keep it up ladies.

That's 9 out of 10 and 11 of the last 13. Nice to be on a roll. Don't take Rice for granted. Protect the home floor.
I really think that win at TCU turned the season in a great direction. It's cool to look at conference standings and see your school at the top of them.

yes I am quoting myself, but I believe out of 8600 posts this was my first "real" post

Wow the women's basketball team is on a roll. Fantastic!
It's so nice to see at least one team with some guts and heart.
Keep it up!

I think I understand what you are saying, but I believe the men's team plays with heart too.

Didn't she have three 3s in the second half?

Yes, she did have three total. I was referring to the back-to-back shots. Sorry for not being clear.

I was just looking at the remaining schedule and the ladies have a relatively tough schedule:
Rice - 0-7
@ S. Miss - 6-1
@ UCF - 5-2
@ Memphis - 1-7
UAB - 3-5
@ Houston - 4-3
@ Rice - 0-7
Tulane - 3-4
UTEP - 5-2
They've got to take care of business at home and gotta win the games on the road they're supposed to win. The games at S. Miss, UCF and Houston will be tough match-up's but anything is possible in this conference. It's a pleasant surprise to see this team has a good shot at a 20-win season. I can't say it enough - what a great job by these young players improving their game and playing as a team. What a great job by the coaches of developing the players, especially given the loss of such a talented class from last year.

Boy, Rice sure has fallen off. Wasn't it last year, or the year before, that they were challenging SMU for the conference title?
