SMU's failures have been a myriad of disastrous coaching hires and an administration hellbent on overcompensating for our past sins. The Rangers however, have one playoff win in the history of the team. The LA Clippers are the only team that comes immediately to mind with that same level of futility. Maybe the Detroit Lions but they at least made an NFC Championship game in the early 90's before the Cowboys started their run. However, if you hold Baseball America to be a valid authority, the Texas Rangers have the best farm system in all of baseball and they say it isn't even close. So who knows maybe our fortunes are linked?

Rangers will never win the World Series and will never get good pitching. They should have doomed the Ballpark when they built it. It's too hot.
I'd say SMU is more cursed though. I've never seen an organization or teams with more bad luck ever.
