MexMustang-you know we had this discussion several times. Anyone that follows college football could predict as I did BEFORE the season-August 27, 2008- that June Jones was going to tear this roster down by wringing the roster of as many upperclassmen as he could to get as many scholarships as he could. You even referenced previous predictions that I had made saying the same thing. Starting a true Freshman over Justin Willis and every other true freshman with a heatbeat is an unmistakeable sign of a teardown. What more the teardown ain't done yet. Need more to make way for the next class

Are we really still hanging on to something Stallion said two years ago as the basis for any opinion he has going forward?

Gimme a break. He will freely admit that he was wrong in saying that JJ wouldn't come here. But to hold that up time and time again is just getting ridiculous. I'm not only saying this to you, but to a handful of others who keep harping on this as well.

You all need to get some new material.

He gives us plenty of material daily. Its just the occasions when he really wets the bed that make us giggle. Its a message board. I think his ego will be OK.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Being a marginal player that should be cut, is a fair reason to not renew a scholarship, but not a reason to claim he broke team rules.
Does anyone have any knowledge of his behavior? Or was he just not Div 1 matterial?

If a player goes to class, busts his arse at practice, always gives 100% and is never in trouble then why should he be cut. The school/coaches offered him a scholarship and if the player doesn't pan out then I blame that on the coach and not the kid. As a former player I have a problem with not renewing scholarships without some legitimate reason (bad behavior, etc.).

He is getting paid (scholarship) to contribute to the team. When he can no longer contribute enough to be worth keeping, nothing wrong with letting him go. Boo hoo, he'll have to pay his own way like the rest of us. Or, he can transfer to one of the hundreds of lower level schools that he could contribute to, and still get paid with a free education.

Do we want winning football, or a charity squad?

"All schools that win cut players much like in the business world"

So does the Dallas Morning News rush to report these stories on Texas?

No, they report that in Austin, as far as you know.

i think this is what it's all about and should be about. if you're not good enough, you're gone

That's a fact!

And as Bus said it is from year to year. The only thing I would say is if a kids great, and gets hurt, you keep him if he keeps the grades

If you're lettting a kid go because he is not performing on the field, then say it - I don't want to hear this bs about cutting classes, showing up late, etc.. If a kid turns out to be a not so great player - and you cut him because of that - then fine - just tell us that is the reason.

I just don't want college football to be more of a meat market than it is already. Saying that everyone else does it doesn't make it right. I know...welcome to the real world...yada yada. I know how the business works - I lived it.
