Looks like our coaches still making noise in Hawaii

Scout seems to think we've offered a DE named Graham Rowley (6-3, 250) of Waialua High & Intermediate School. Also has offers from Stanford and Hawaii.

I wonder how difficult it is to actually try to recruit someone while visitng Hawaii? Maybe a couple of hrs recruiting & several days of enjoying the islands.
Although I'm a big on recruiting locally, I would make it a priority to have @ least 1 solid recruit on each of the islands annually.

Photo and some discussion of Rowley is in this thread:

Rowley, a 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive end, has offers from Hawai'i, Stanford and SMU and serious interest from Arizona, Oregon, UCLA and Washington. Graham was recently named as the No. 32 prospect, regardless of position, in the initial Scout.com Fab 50 for the class of 2010.

I would put Hawaii and Stanford's chances much higher than SMU for Rowley.

Why is that? Has he said something about his preferences? You usually have good info.

No inside info on this. Hawaii has just done a great job at keeping players home and Stanford has the academics and is a lot closer to home than Dallas.

Depends on whether you leave Hawaii going east or west.

I also should point out that Hawaii and Stanford have offered his teammate (6'5", 270-pound OL/DL with another offer from Arizona). They apparently have been carpooling to Hawaii Speed and Quickness camps, which are run by Hawaii's Assistant Head Football Coach (Rich Miano) and Hawaii's Strength and Fitness Coach.

Some athletes in Hawaii want to go to leave Hawaii for school. With Stanford being close to Hawaii and with his teammate also getting an offer there, that is a good option for them. One of my degrees is from Stanford and I know that there are a lot of students from Hawaii there and they have an active Hawaii Club.

I'll rent a place for them if they want to start one here. Any idea why we haven't offered his buddy?
