??? I'm cutting you, but you should appeal it?
I'd rather have the problems players, be it attitude, work ethic, etc, off the team and holding a scholarship than have them still around infecting your team.
I think that quote tells us that a few players did nothing wrong, but didn't hold up their end of the contract.
JJ just needed that attitude out of the locker room.

I’M 100% SUPORTIVE OF June Jones. Let’s win some ball games and quit nurse sitting for sub par talent. Matter of fact, I will up my donation to the club this year.

US News? To think of all the people sitting in dentists' waiting rooms across the country who will read of our cutthroat and insensitive practices.
but then again it is a blog so the kids will read it...
I will wait patiently for the story to hit ReadersDigest.com and TVGuide.com

Jones is prone to hyperbole, but I want us to hold him to this one --
June Jones on Estonion track star Margus Hunt wrote:]"If I was in the NFL, I would've signed this guy," said Jones. "After four years with me, or maybe three years, he may be a first- or second-round draft pick."

You wonder if any negative news concerning SMU will now be amplified on a national level since we are home to the W shrine.

Part of it is the W Bookmobile, but it's also partly because of the connection many draw between our program and anything that can be perceived as negative. A&M does this to 13 and it doesn't even make a wave in College Station, much less around the country. Didn't Houston Nutt replace a lot more players than this when he got to Old Miss? Not a word. It happens all over the place. I'm way past what happened to us 20 years ago, but sadly, that's still the image many sportswriters have for SMU.

SMU is an easy target in Dallas - few fans in Dallas, but enough people know what SMU is. Negative articles to get reader's attention without POing anyone.

SMU has done very little to change that image with the Dallas media and the Dallas sportsfan. I realize the marketing budget has always been limited but I've never understood why we don't utilize our student body more. We have one of the brightest business schools in the nation....why not get them to come up with ideas to market our sports teams to the city and the students? It sure couldn't hurt

We do have one of the business school classes (I think it was business school) to promote the spring game and they usually have pretty decent stuff but nobody's interesting at the end of the day.
