If I recall he set up some kind of a scholarship after he graduated. I think he has more than given back.

I've never heard that.

Just watching the man run was more than sufficient compensation. I have never seen a more beautiful sight on a football field than #11 pitching to #19.

This is really taxing my memory but I am almost certain that he established some sort of endowment for scholarship a shortly after he left. I think it was right after he signed his NFL contract. Whether or not anything still exists, I do not know but it seems it was established to be something that would be ongoing.

If colleges could openly bid on HS players, the next 'ED' could easily earn $1M per year.
Conclusion - ED was underpaid given his contribution to SMU.

Along with about 1000 others that got money? Are you going to list them also and demand retribution? There were plenty on my team getting paid and it did not begin or stop with them. It is not the kids fault if some fat cat waves money at them, especially if all the other schools are waving it at them also.
NOPE, I'm not going to list them, and demand reparations.
I'm just NOT going to put them in the fantasy land known as
the "College (amateur)" Football Hall of Fame
I guess it's not the kid's fault either if he takes the neighbor's Jag a few
laps around the block without permission if it's unlocked, and the keys
are left in the ignition.

So in other words you just do not like Dickerson. It is ok for all the others to have taken money. I want to make sure I am clear on your feelings. Or do you actually believe that if put in the Hall of Fame (College) that Dickerson would be the only one to have taken money.
And by the way, if the neighbor gave the keys to the kid and said "here, go drive my car", I would bet most kids would even if they did not have a license.

Thought both he and Craig James made some sort of donation.

OK, let Dickerson in, but only if they rename it The College/Semi-Pro
Hall of Shame.
