Looks like he has Turner and Orsini's blessings.

Ok fellas, this is gonna be year 4. How do you see a recovery to the NCAA's in year 5?? Not likely.

Do they really extend this guy? McCoy is awesome, no doubt about that. Williams only has 1 year left. Other than that, a bunch of very average players compared to real NCAA tourney levels.

He'll get an extension if there is marked improvement next year. Wouldn't South Florida, A&M and Northwestern come here next year?

For the record, I did not write that article!!

But I am glad I am not the only one that feels that we have improved this year, even if the record doesn't show it.

Very nice read, good to get on the front page,...now we need to go out and take care of business against Houston.

I'm all for being positive but... This program's goal should be competitive in a crappy conference and be in the NCAA's. I'm sorry I just dont see if for several years.

I am on the record as agreeing. We need significant improvement next year and hopefully we will.

For the most part, the last half of the season, we hung around everyone we played, cept maybe for Memphis. The whole team, minus Bamba, is back and hopefully will have improved their game and matured in the off season. and we can eliminate those late fades and turn those Ls into Ws next year.

We shall see.

Games that were blowouts last year were closer this year, and we were more competitive. The record hurts, to be sure, but there is improvement. Bamba Fall is the only player not in his first or second year with the team — considering the importance of experience on a team that doesn't have marquee talent, that's actually very encouraging.

Shock the world in the CUSA tournament, Mustangs!

His stated goal at the beginning of this season was to reverse the record of last season, and he was not even in the ballpark. It won't happen, but I think it's time to move on.

I know you're knowledgeable when it comes to b-ball but where did you see improvement?? Nyakundi is the only player that I feel showed improvement. McCoy started the season very well but tailed off towards the end. Everyone was spewing that they saw obvious improvement at this point last year...but that improvement certainly didn't carry over to this year.

That was predictable that McCoy would tail off because he played so many minutes and never had any help from the low post consistently. That would happen to even Ty Lawson if UNC's front court stunk.

Actually, I was surprised by the chart where SMU was better than last year. Of course, we regressed on the turnovers and free throw shooting.

Losses are losses no matter how you slice them. It's going to take a commitment from this group to be strong in tight games to know how to and believing in finishing teams off.

Otherwise, losing 65-50 is no different than losing 65-63.

assuming 30 games, 17-13 next year, 20-10 the next & Doherty is still HC

My kingdom for 17-13. But he made a good point about the lack of tradition and winning here really since I started school in 1987.

Because Tulsa has had success and series of great coaches in the past in Nolan Richardson, Tubby Smith, etc., it could have been easier for Wojick to sell his history and get kids to believe and be a part of the next wave of success.

If you ignore the win loss record, the program is doing great.

Sorry, I did not see the improvement. When you compare bad statistics with hideous statistics they still stink no matter what the spin.
