Why read when you can panic instead.

Exactly. Some of our fans are really stupid. Read the damn story. He already went to A&M, didn't get an offer, had offers from UH and KSU, then committed to us.

Now, is there something that makes this too hard to understand?

It is the chronic loser syndrom that we have to break around hear. Ignore any signs of good news and wallow in the bad (or even the rumor of bad).

It will take a winning season or two to break it - it has become an SMU fan conditioned response.

Busted!

For those who don't know, the writer (Mike Forman) is an old classmate of mine at SMU. Forman tells me O'Guin's parents like SMU (they talked about the difference in graduation rate at SMU vs A$M) but the Aggie$ are hot in pursuit

Yes, the Aggies are so hot in pursuit that they have yet to pull the trigger and offer. If they're that excited about him -- as you make it sound -- they should have done it already.

Whatever.

O'Guin's going to get multiple offers before all is said and done. This is the game you play with top recruits.

Thanks CP for the additional information.

I really wouldn't be surprised to see A&M offer-I've read several times on TexAgs.com and other boards that they have already lost 5 out of 6 of their top Texas targets at DT including O'Guin and that DT is their biggest area of concern. We've only gone through the first wave of offers. As players get crossed off team's wish list others will be offered.

Also, in a Rivals interview his father said that A&M was trying to get him to come to their spring game, but they will not be going. I think his parents are sold on SMU and rightly so. They know he will get great coaching, will have a great opportunity to play and show his ability, and get a great education in the process. If he is NFL capable he will get the opportunity to show that at SMU. If it turns out he is not NFL material, he will have a great education to start his adult life. Smart parents.
