Stanford-Not So Selective Anymore?
some Texas fan claimed this but I didn't believe it until I went to Rivals and saw that Stanford has already extended 147 offers in the 2010 Recruiting Class. In the past Stanford was usually the last offer-and I remember several recruits SMU was recruiting who would be waiting for months on acceptance to Stanford in December and January. I wonder if they have a 2-step offer and then acceptance process now. Either way that's a huge number of offers. Something like 25-30 in Texas.
Stanford just laid off 12 people in the athletic department and has put on hold a raise for Jim Harbaugh. The endowment has taken a real plunge and they are laying off staff and cutting budgets. The new stadium has not helped attendance so maybe they are loosening standards, but Elway would still not get in today.

That would be awesome. I grew up about 5 min away from campus in Menlo Park and used to go see the Cardinal all the time. I expect them to do some good things with Harbaugh.LakeHighlandsPony wrote:I have always rooted for Stanford too. I would love a home and home with the Cardinal.
