OG John Dirk

Rivals reports that Missouri has offered this guard from Stephenville, who is 6'3 1/2", weighs 285 lbs, and runs a 5 flat forty. We are also a consideration along with Houston, but Missouri has the "big jump on everybody" since they have been the only one to offer so far. He moved in from Oklahoma after the spring and many coaches were not aware of him since Stephenville didn't have a Division I recruit on the team. His father is the defensive coordinator at Tarleton State. He has a 2 star 5.0 Rating on Rivals.

the report also said that coaches first noticed him at the DFW Coaches All-Star game a few weeks ago and the article said he whippid first an OU signee DLM and then a UT signee DLM all week long. Interesting.

The Insiders is also now reporting some of the same glowing reports from The Coca-Cola All-Star game-(I think they maybe coming from his father since he is a coach at Tarleton St). they report that that he made a mid-week unofficial visit to SMU last week and is close to offering. Looks like he may commit to Missouri this weekend as his father is a Big 8 alum.

Being an alum of both SMU and Mizzou,, I guess I should be glad that he is going to one of the two. However, I personally liked SMU more from a scenery perspective!

I've never been to Mizzou, but I'd have to think that comparison isn't even close.

Uh, you'd be surprised. There are worse places than Columbia Missouri cuz Mizzou has some talent.

Dont' get me wrong, Mizzou's campus is dramatic. I'm more partial to the other scenery that I enjoyed at SMU when I attended in the mid 70s. As a matter of fact, I married one of them!

According to Julius Densmore, a Mizzou recruit, Dirk committed to the Tigers this weekend.
