i think they should take the four winners from all four post season tourneys and have them play each other...

NCAA vs. CIT
NIT vs. CBI

and the winner of those games play each other for an outright national title!

ASDF wrote:Charleston Pony, Did you catch any Citadel games. Just wondering about their coach (Conroy). He seems to have done a heck of a job. I lived in Charleston during the NCAA tournament years of CofC and saw alot of the games. I always thought the Citadel would be nearly impossible to build a strong program.

The job that Conroy has done at the Citadel is attracting a lot of attention. A remarkable 1 year turnaround with a roster dominated by Sophs. I caught a few games and was very impressed with their discipline (you might expect that at a military college). Great spacing and ball movement and they worked hard to get good shots. Cremins is bringing Charleston back as well and the new arena is really nice.

C of C vs Citadel is a nice little rivalry that had all but died in recent years (after C of C won something like 13 straight) but the intensity seems to be back. Sounds like you were here during the Kresse years and when Citadel had Washburn & Castillo there were some hotly contested games played to packed houses. I suspect Conroy will get offers and may not stick around.

Would love to see SMU play in the C of C Tourney some year. TCU played over here this year with Temple & Clemson among others.
