Wow, Willis and Sanders both became 2 inches shorter, guess JJ really chewed on them during their suspensions! Not to mention 2 inches could cost Sanders some draft positions, if he gets drafted at all.

Pretty sure his "secret" would have been figured out by the NFL before he gets drafted.

My friend who is actually 6' 1" (Willis' listed height two seasons ago when he was QB) told me that he passed Willis in Hyer hall one day and noticed that Willis was a bit shorter than he was.

Oh so Ponyboy tell me how you know which Tulsa and Rice players are walkons since you obviously included non-starters. I'm sure you included all our walk-ons too so that you were comparing apples to apples. Better yet who in the hell cares if Tulsa has 2 5-11 walkons on their Roster. Didn't know you followed the rosters of Rice and Tulsa so closely that you can predict ahead of time who the starters will be. You are full of crap and will invent ways to make SMU look good if the numbers don't please you. And as for our offensive line being so great-we were dead last in rushing offense last year-did you throw that into your calculations too. If you're satisfied with our opffensive line then you are nuts. Not even close to where we need to be. The freshman class of linemen do look like a step-up to me. Hope they all sit on the bench and redshirt.

All I did was take our roster, Tulsa's roster, and Rice's roster and do simple math. I'm sorry you don't like the numbers.

Question: does anyone else think that the Stallion-Ponyboy exchange makes us look like a bunch of NERDS? So what are we, Rice? I simply don't care about average offensive line size- as long as these guys don't get pushed around and we can protect the QB and run the ball, then an O-line is good.

But Stallion is right, our running game sucked last year.

The o-line play was good. The qb's weren't running for their life. The problem in the rushing game was the rb's. Lack of quickness and overall speed hurt more than the o-line. IF Butler, Lee, are heathy, Lunday, McNeill and possibly Frazier then our rushing game will be more productive. This will in turn make for an awesome passing attack. If it was more about the RBs, then why did the team average drop from 4.3 to 2.3 from 2008-2009? I don't think it was all just the loss of James Mapps, and pulling Willis out of there. On top of that, the bigger slower guys had better output than the smaller quicker guys. Granted Lee and Lundy were true freshmen which is never a good sign, but still; don't think you can absolve the line for their role in the lack of production in the running game.

Stallion usually throws a gasket when wrong - the defensiveness jumps off the page. Our OL is basically the same height as Tulsa's - not saying they are better - but pretty close to the same height.

I would have to say that the reason our qbs weren't running for their lives the majority of the time last year is because in JJ's system the qb gets the snap and gets the ball out quickly. Therefore, if you're not holding the ball that long you're not going to be put in the position to have to possibly run for the hills to save your a_ _.
