I checked out the Virginia rivals thing to see if those clowns still thought Tubby Smith was coming.

Anyway, there is a thread on there that says some guy said his source told him the new Cavaliers boss is Matt Doherty.

If you have a subscription, knock yourself out. I don't so I don't know what others said. Read and decide for yourself

They thought Tubby was coming the last time they had an opening (when they hired Leitao). They are tracking a flight from St. Paul to Charlottesville right now.

bet those UVA guys got Tony Bennett confused with "that coach at SMU who didn't win many games" and someone said "oh...I know his name...wait a second...Bennett?" and that morphed into Doherty.

So, someone else start a thread that says Doherty to Wazzou??

Now, I can sleep better. FWIW, I thought that rumor on that fan board was so bizarre. Even with his ACC ties, how could Virginia even risk that given how much his crash-and-burn time has gone here, and how would that sell to their fans?
