Paul McCoy- CUSA All Freshman Team. Probably the second best freshman in the conference after Tyreke Evans who was NCAA Freshman of the Year and has declared for the NBA draft. Averaged 13/4/3 this year.
Mo Faye- Transfer from Ga. Tech so had sit out first semester. Started playing late December averaged 10ppg and 5rpg.
Derek Williams- Combo guard with the ability to score- averaged 13ppg for us this season.
Papa Dia- Hit a soph slump but this is the same kid that averaged 10ppg and 7rpg as a freshman and was offered by OU and Louisville.
Robert Nayakundi- 6'7 forward who shot 39% from 3-land as a redshirt freshman this year.
That is our best 5 in my mind. Also don't be surprised if Freshman Justin Haynes takes a huge step forward next year. He really stepped up the last few games of the season.

If we can land two jucos that can produce as good or better than Williams did last year, it could actually be a fun season to watch.

The list above points out that we are in major need of a talent upgrade.
The team is extremely weak & needs more inside physical/tough players.
Also, the team was a turnover machine & can't shoot from the field, leading to many major scoring droughts during games.
We have 2 good guards, 2 6'7, 6'8 kids that love to jack up 3's & a very soft pf that loves to shoot fade away jumpers, but he was recruited by OU & Louisville. The jury is out on Haynes. Just like Malone & Harp did as freshman, Haynes showed some promise.
"We have a great bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately, all our games are played indoors."

His BEST year was with Tubbs' recruits. I've seen enough.
It doesn't hurt to call the guy. I said last Saturday to call him, even with his reputation. If Orsini were to be serious, then he would have to do a lot of work on Gillispie's background and find out for himself. If he doesn't like what he hears, then he moves on.
As a program, we have to ask ourselves, is our current direction giving this program the chance to succeed or not and how long are we committed to this current direction?

unless your Auburn making fools of themselves you don't go looking for the next Coach when you already have one. Doherty is the Coach and he is coming back next year. Might as well move on to Uniform talk and pictures of Hotties. Waste of time.

See I wasn't even trying and I made a Jim Copeland-related funny.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Just don't be naive enough to think this stuff never happens. That said, I don't anything would be done and as I have said before, Doherty is coming back next year.
The key for his fifth year is talk of the extension. If it heats up, then the team is playing well and he's coming back. If there isn't, then the writing is on the wall.

Did you know that the UK Athletic Director was a former Asst. Executive Director of the SMU Mustang Club from 1983-86?
Fires a coach with a 2 year record of 40-27 while our coach enters his 4th year with a record of 33-58.

i agree with the article. we should take a shot at billy clyde. doh is not cutting it. he has done a great job with the program as far as facilities etc but has not done a good job on the court. While gilespe is not a great people person we could use the help really turning this thing around with Ws.
