Chase Williams Update

from South Carolina paper


Linebacker Chase Williams (6-3, 240) of Leesburg, Va., has visited several schools, including USC. He has offers from West Virginia, Marshall, Miami, New Mexico State and SMU. He’s also hearing from LSU, Miami, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Michigan and Michigan State.

I notice he is visiting us on the 25th. What is his (or our) relationship to this Virginia player?

I think his dad worked in the NFL for years and either his dad or someone his dad knows is friends with June Jones.

I wonder if we're going to start seeing a trend of other programs getting interested in players after JJ takes notice...just thinking about Vic Viloria's comment, amongst others, that JJ has a great eye for talent. we were the first offers on a lot of guys that ended up getting tons of offers subsequent to ours...

His dad is former Redskins HC Gregg Williams.
