RB Lennon Creer Leaves Vols-Originally from Texas

Post by Stallion »

originally highly ranked 4 star-6.0 by Rivals. Class of 2007 Recruit who should have 2 more years after a transfer year. Of course, Tennessee just signed two of the most highly recruited backs in the Country this year including No. 1 Bryce Brown. Still Creer averaged a strong 5.3 yards per carry last year. He will be restricted from transferring to other SEC schools. Someone said he might be looking at Rice

What do you think is more likely....Bryce Butler plays two years at UT, dominates, has no off field distractions, becomes a top 10 pick in the draft, goes on to become an pro bowler....or

He never really does much at UT, has off field issues, there are NCAA questions about his recruitment, he plays he 10 games over 2 years, then transfers...oh and then Lane Kiffen gets fired and ends up being the QB coach at Arizona State

Creer released from Tennessee
Tennessee football coach Lane Kiffin has confirmed running back Lennon Creer of Tatum, has been given his scholarship release by the University of Tennessee.

Multiple sources have told KTBB Sports the former all-state running back is interested in talking to the following programs; North Carolina, North Carolina State, Missouri, Rice, Tulsa, Tulane, Louisiana Tech, Baylor, and Northwestern Louisiana.

Of the nine schools listed, only Northwestern Louisiana would give Creer the opportunity to play immediately.

Transferring to any of the other programs or any Division 1-A program will require Creer to sit out a full year.

we don't need any running backs anyway. Rice, Tulsa, Tulane and Baylor all involved?

That's a loaded statement, Hoop. Do we know we aren't trying to be a part of the sweepstakes to get this kid? Are we even allowed to contact him? Would he be a good fit?

Out of high school, this young man had offers from every major program in the South, OU, both UT's, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Miami, etc.

Maybe Lane's father is a friend of June's and help us qualify and recruit him? Who knows?

June and Monty are good friends. I don't know if that will play into the decision making process.

No, but maybe he could at least suggest that he check into SMU.

When the No. 1 Recruit in the nation signed with the school you are playing at then you realize they atre going to give him playing time. Plus they also signed a 4 star.
