What's the scoop on Vee Sanford?

Post by Stallion »

we discussed him early in the year but not much lately. He had a great year-and apparently SMU offered. He has a lot of offers including SMU but most are mid-level teams we might be able to beat for him

Everything I have seen on this kid is very positive. Sounds like a very good SG prospect. One interview I saw with him said that big crowds & fan support were important to him. I think we stopped showing up on his list of favorites a couple of months ago when he started getting more offers.

I think he was holding out the Billy Clyde would offer. Certainly, w/Clyde gone, he's not getting a Cal offer. Also read that he may take an official to Gtown. Not sure if that's happened or not.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

Looks like Baylor is now in the mix.

After reading those blogs (numerous detailed Sanford updates) there is no way we will be in the mix for this kid. Sporting all kinds of offers, many from programs much better than ours.

bright side on this is talent identification. Doherty's staff offered Sanford a long time ago when he held offers from no notable programs. Now after hius senior season he has blown up and is very highly recruited. Unfortunately, I don't see that leading him to SMU.

I'm not a big fan of Nolan Dennis. Seen him play in person twice. Very talented but something doesn't sit well with me and him. I just don't have a good feeling about him.
