I've been friends with Matt's family for many years, both his parents and grandparents went to SMU, he has red and blue in his veins. Tom is a talented singer/songwriter. http://www.myspace.com/tomfaulkner
Yes, Matt is a good and he really wanted SMU to consider him because of his family connections. However, Bennett and his staff never really pursued it.
The thing about Matt was that when he suffered the concussion halfway through the 2006 season, he really wasn't the same in the second half of the year. And that's too bad because he really got off to a good start that year.

Faulkner's claim to fame is that his dad, Tom, wrote the "Baby Back Ribs" song used in ads for Chili's restaurants.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Says the man with a naked Kathy Bates as an avatar. I guess she could be singing the song so it could be worse.Dooby wrote:Then he has to die.Stallion wrote:Scattershooting

I knew the man who sang the original version of that song back in the 80s. His name was Peyton Park. He used to play in a dixieland band with SMU's own Ed Bernet and the late Tommy Loy.Stallion wrote:Scattershooting

I don't have access to the Scout and Rivals stories, so I don't know what was said.
What I do know is that there are about 10-20 schools he is looking at. SMU is on there but as of today, he has yet to contact them. I think the quote from Pat Hill may have been taken out of context because of the Mason connection.
Hard to know if Hill and Mason actually talked about this. Faulkner is a spread quarterback.
When Fresno went back to the pro-style approach with an emphasis on the running game, I think the writing was on the wall.
