Shawn Withy-Allen in 2002 for Hawaii: 211 yards rushing on 41 attempts. He also completed 57% of his passes. Colt Brennan in 2006: 366 yards rushing (6.14 per rushing attempt). He also threw for 5549 yards. To put his rushing yards in perspective, Colt in 2006 had more rushing yards than SMU's top two rushers in 2008. JJ wants his QBs to look for the pass first. However, when nothing is open, he has had a number of QBs run the ball effectively. Tyler Graunke was an even better running QB than Colt Brennan, and beat him out to start the 2005 season. Hawaii opened the season at USC and actually moved the ball against USC with an option running offense when the game began. Option runs were also Hawaii's most effective short-yardage and goal-line play in 2007 and at other times, taking advantage of the mobility at the QB position.
One of the practice reports I read, or it may have been a player interview talked about them practicing the option. Seems they weren't having much success with it in practice. This could be our guy.
What makes him seem like a Dual threat guy? The story up now (the Nike 11 story) doesn't mention that. -CoS
yeah I read that to I believe on here and on Scout. I just can't imagine us running with with any of our current backs. way to slowwwwwwwww
where do you see that he's a dual threat QB??? SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
It's been mentioned in multiple articles. Here's one: http://washingtonstate.scout.com/a.z?s=137&p=2&c=854404
