5. Which mid-major programs will make noise during the late signing period?
This late period is a very important one for mid-major schools. It gives these programs a chance to add players who showed steady improvement during the high school season.
The mid-major that has made the most noise in recent weeks is Central Florida. The Knights recently got verbals from shooting guards Marcus Jordan (Chicago/Whitney Young) and Nik Garcia (Evanston, Ill./Township). These guards, along with early signee PF Keith Clanton, give the Knights a special class.
Rice had a solid early haul that was highlighted by combo forward Arsalan Kazemi (Lenoir, N.C./The Patterson School). The Owls' class got stronger with the recent addition of A.J. Holland (Cottondale, Ala./Bryant). The sixth commit in Rice's 09 class, Holland is a point guard with playmaking ability.
Ohio University's recent addition gives the Bobcats a class with talent and depth. Ivo Baltic (Riverside, Mo./Park Hill South) is a 6-7 power forward who can face up and beat the opponents with his jumper and dribble. Ohio is also reportedly locked in on Providence transfer and Ohio native Alex Kellogg.
