Basketball news over the weekend

Postby papawasamustang » Mon May 04, 2009 8:54 am

Dallas Pinkston guard Javarez "Bean" Willis commits to Texas Tech.
"Bean" was the best available player in the area & showed us as a school of interest. SAT scores are a concern.

5 Star PF Latavious Williams was set to announce his decision today but has delayed it because he wanted to visit Isiah Thomas @ Fla International over the weekend.

Williams also has feelers out in Europe. I was actually told he hasn't even taken the SAT/ACT yet...lol. If Pastner grabs Williams & Bledsoe, he rebounded w/a nasty class, post Cal.

As for Willis, I think Tech is the only high major to offer. Could be wrong about that, though.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

Became public on Friday, May 1st. As of today, ESPN, Scout & Rivals still hasn't updated his commitment. Nothing on the Dallas Mornining News recruiting blog either.
