I can buy that. But it also shows how Doherty and his staff missed this.
It shows nothing of the sort. Just as we sometimes hope a guy can improve his grades as a senior to qualify, it's fully possible that this guy's academics did fall off this year, in which case the idea that he's not ready to compete academically has merit

i dont think doh gets all the credit for mccoy. if he didnt go to J.J.'s school, he doesnt come to smu

Yes, of course; lets NOT give him credit for the best signing through his tenure at SMU.
