Exciting news. A 6'11 big man that started 33 games last season with 21 blocks, 5 ppg & 5 boards per game. Hopefully he sets great screens & does alot of things that don't show up in the boxscore.

I just read were Adam Brown from Collin County JC signed with U of H. along with another very good JC player out of San Jac named McNeil.
We should have been all over Brown. He was the Player of the Year in a very tough conference. What's so frustrating about Brown is that he has been right up the road for the last 2 years & I know for a fact that we didn't even make a run @ this kid. Poor recruiting.

sounds like Doherty has employed Bennett's strategy of going after guys no one else wants. looks like he's from London so hopefully he's a raw talent who's 5 months away from blossoming...strange signing

"Among the last-summer recruits feature 6-foot-10 MYLES LUTTMAN, who hails from Tamworth, England.

"Myles has been in the States with a friend, looking to go to Grossmont College. But he inquired about playing here, so I built a relationship with him and recruited him here." "

Edit: The above quote was from his coach at San Diego City College.

From the greatness of Talking Heads "we're on a road to nowhere..."
Does Doh not realize he's running out of time?

im with you guys...how exciting could this be if the kid's high scoring game was 11 points...on a side note, i saw bamba at homebar thursday and was able to push him off the block, or out of the way of the bar...

Another 5/5 guy who is going to vault us into the Top 25. Is 5/5 Doh's criteria for front line guys?? Seems like that is all he can sign. Doh is desperate and this is yet another example. Hate to be negative, but this signing is not a happening.

Yes, he was a 5/5 guy, but look at the last stat, he only played 10 minutes a game. 5 and 5 in 10 minutes are solid stats. Someone needs to find out why he only played 10 minutes a game.

Conditioning? Foul Trouble? Dog House? Looks like he got 0 minutes in several games which contributed to that, did he have injury trouble?"

Not much is known about him, but it is possible that he was not healthy last year. Hopefully someone that knows something can fill us in.

Plus he hung 11 on Antelope Valley!!!!!!!

I have the same concerns-I was the first to note his lack of playing time but when bending over backwards to give the kid a break also remember he averaged 1 point per game as a freshman at an NAIA school. He is a REAAAALLL Project. Maybe he can be a modern day Clayton Korver-the Animal. Takes up space, rebounds, blocks out and plays defense.

Do we still have a scholarship to give? We have Clinkscale and Luttman. Is there a third? I know Francis is going elsewhere.

Right now there is officially one open scholarship.

I hope Doherty will do what is in the long range interest of the program. I'm afraid he's going to sign another leftover, picked-over stiff-what he should do instead is look for a qualified D1A Transfer-but such a player would not be eligible next year. Its also possible SMU might get lucky and find a late qualifier

"SMU" and "lucky" are not compatable terms. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
