The Dallas Morning News Archive would probably be helpful. You could even be cheap and search the archive then go to the library and pull the microfiche.

Hot Spot – Cafe Dallas Greenville - people from the set of Dallas would come in along with all the cowboys and celebrities. A women once gave her keys to the bartender who walked them down to me blab bla bla.

Country Hot Spot Diamond Jims Greenville. If you could leave your wife at the bar, go to the bathroom and some one was not talking to her when you got back, your wife was ugly LOL

Sleazy - Young bloods Greenville Dollar beer night’s French kisses for a buck LOL.
Left the place at closing one time and watched four people back up in the parking lot and smash into parked cars three times before leaving.

Just watched 'The Night of the White Pants' (It was in HD and I'm unemployed)....horrible script, but fun to see somebody try and paint a picture of life in Big D (Swiss Avenue, trophy wives)...but you know it's a fraud when they have to go to 'the other side of town' to get from Double Wide to The Adolphus. Then they'll be driving east through deep ellum and wind up getting on 35 at the triple underpass....golly.

Anyway, it's on Showtime.

If you want a 'hot spot' in the late 70s, #3 Lift ( later 'The Lift') was a disco spot on NW highway around Webb Chapel, I believe...

not that I ever owned a leisure suit, or was refused entry there...

Another bar that catered to grungy types, Ground Zero...I believe over on Greenville...lots of stoners, and ne'er-do-wells there, too.

and yes, Jack Ruby did frequent Campisi's during the day...most of Dallas did during that time.
