Colt Knost UpdateGoing into the last weekend of May, here's how he is doing on his first year on the PGA tour:
* 180th on the money list -- about $108,000 * Appeared in 13 tournaments * Made 7 cuts * Most he has made is about $36,000 at the Bob Hope tournament in January. * He finished 52nd at the Byron Nelson at -3 and collected about $14,000. Just thought we'd like to know. All in all, not bad for going against the game's best players. I would think he's probably clearing about 65K because of taxes, his caddy and other things. That's just on the tour. I have no idea what his situation is on endorsements. Given his newness, I'm sure it's a finite thing.
108k aint nothing to scoff at
Sir, shooting-star, sir.
Frosh 2005 (TEN YEARS AGO!?!) The original Heavy Metal.
Needs to get moving to keep his card.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Depends if he is backed or not. If backed, he may get a guaranteed salary and or expenses covered, then a portion of his earnigns on top, with majority of winnings going to backer.
Until you know if he cut a deal with someone, hard to say what he clears. Restore the 80s Glory!
US AM champ..check..US PubLinks Champ...check....Walker Cupper..check..pretty sure the brother has backers.
And I'm pretty sure you're just looking to pick a fight with just about everybody on this board regarding any topic. This was just a nice and simple update to let everyone know how our fellow alum was doing. We're all pretty proud of him. You came along and turned this whole thing upside down and got ugly with it. Thanks. ![]()
i think he is right tho patton ... the guy has sponsors
No argument here. I mentioned in my first post about his potential and likely connections with sponsorships. For the sake of clarity, the $65K was probably what he was clearing on the tournament because of taxes, paying his caddy and other things. It was just a guess. But offhisrocker just decided to be the ultimate dunderhead about this.
Read today that Knost was in a car accident recently which explains his recent poor showings. He had to back out of a Nationwide Tourney in Ft Smith this week with banged up ribs. He needs to get well and make some money to keep his card.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Well, he was in a car accident, and he did injure his ribs, and he is going to have trouble keeping his card if he does not earn more money. Where is the lie? You can have all the sponsors in the world and not keep your tour card. Ask John Daley, or any number of PGA pros who are now playing Nationwide after not earning enough money last year. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
wrecked while in Big D during Nelson week....heard he was "hurting" during SJ Classic (bud caddies for Charles Howell III)...plenty o' time to heal up, make some decent checks and maitain his status...ps, could get medical extension for next year...thank the lord abc/espn has moved over for nbc today, MUCH better production.
