I have to be honest, I think we need to move beyond the pony... I understand the history of the pony express and everything, but we need to embrace something new and move past all the softness of "pony"...

A mustang is untamed and free, and it runs wild...maybe something we can try to promote, running wild over the competition.

What could be something that we could create with more of a vision involving the mustang?

thats the main reason that the faculty is not on board with "pony up"....its a fundraising ploy. They don't like associating SMU image with corny fundraising slogans that double as our athletic motto.

It's cheap and dumb, and guess what Turner? You are perpetuating the image you are trying to fight.

Definitely overanalyzed. The "faculty" won't be on board with any idea. The loyal, supportive, enthusiastic faculty members I know, who actually appreciate and support athletics, like "Pony Up! - don't make it so complicated
