Interesting article re: realignment and playoffs

Says Big 10/Pac 10/Big 12 realignment could shut up the push for a playoff

Mentions possibility of ND, Rutgers (highly unlikely IMO), and Mizzou to Big 10

Big 12 adding TCU

Pac 10 (12?) adding Boise St., Utah

Big East adding either Memphis or UCF

And I'm assuming the rest of us to just go home quietly with our tails between our legs.

Well, with our current administration (at SMU) & leadership within all the universities in division I, that would mostly likely happen.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

I'd love to see the PAC 10 expand and add Utah & Boise. Maybe the Big 10 will be the catalyst in the next round of realignment. As the article suggests...kudos to TCU for putting themselves in position to even be mentioned in these scenarios.

I agree, kudos to TCU. They were the lowest of the low, (almost as low as SMU today) and pulled themselves up to where they very well may be a candidate for a BCS conference expansion. Meanwhile SMU, that in the early 90s had more going for it than TCU, has done nothing except become a stumblebum. What a mess and it almost makes me be ashamed to be a Mustang.

Whenever we need to judge our own performance and the performance of our school president, we can point to the progress at TCU, new buildings, higher incoming student test scores and of course, athletics. Why can't our leaders understand they need to do it all successfully? We have the most aggressive capital campaign that I can remember, how much more successful would it be if we had been knocking of the door of a BCS bowl invite for the past four years?

Look at the bright side. If this came to pass, Ford would become the nicest stadium in all of Div. 1-AA, and surely all the best 1-AA players would want to come and play for Jones.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
