Mustang Band road trips 2009

Post by bubba pony »

Its summer and slow reading on ponyfans so here is something to discuss. The Mustang Band's pending road trips are TCU and U of Houston. I realize Houston has a big alumni base and students from the area justifies the Houston trip but would maybe like to see the band go to Tulsa. I understand Tulsa send their band to Ford last year.

More than that, why is the band not sent to ALL conference games, at least the western division? We want a top level program, yet SMU doesn't even send the band!

TCU isn't a road trip

UH is a fun game to go to, their band is good to party with too. Tulsa sucks. We went there sophomore year (06) and there was NOTHING to do. Even drinking was boring. And the refs sucked that day

Yeah, but to be fair, the refs suck at every Conference USA game.

Don't knock Tulsa, they used to have the Mayberry Cafe right next to that hotel by the school. Nobody cooks better than Aunt Bee when its 3AM and you're drunk.

When it is 3AM and you're drunk how would you know the difference? Try her food when you're sober and get back to us. :)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Isn't that the one where we had them on the ropes 3-0?

Sure was. We were kicking their A at the end of the first quarter, 3-0. What we didn't realize was they were just marinating us for the next three quarters. Alabama had a wide receiver bigger than our defensive linemen.

Now I do remember those twirler gals in the Bama band standing right behind our bench area right before halftime. Almost makes being sacrificed kinda nice. Kinda nice until the coaches caught me checking them out instead of the game.
