Looked like a spare parts player. There was one comment that basically trashed the kid.

A spare parts player for Arizona could be a stud for SMU. I could care less what some jack@ss posted about the kid- I would love to have more spares like him. 2007 Rivals Top 150 players with offers from 'Zona, ASU, USC, UNLV, and Vandy.

His numbers in the Pac 10 translate to probably a 30mpg and 15ppg for SMU if he played here in CUSA. Per the article:

Johnson, a 6-foot-5, 204-pound sophomore guard from Phoenix, Ariz., averaged 4.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game in 33 games (13 starts) this season. He averaged 19.1 minutes per game. He connected on 43.1 percent (50-of-116) of his field goal attempts, including 39.6 percent (36-of-91) from three-point range and ranked third on the team with 36 three-point field goals.

Where is the connection with Zane Johnson and SMU as his new destination? Reggie Geary?

Reggie is a fantastic hire. Excellent recruiter. Played his high school ball at Mater Dei, one of the top programs in the nation, and has strong connections in Southern Cal and in Texas.

Not much does, by thanks for asking. The Geary connection is pretty obvious. Just wondering if there is anything out there pointing out this kid's interest in SMU?

Thorns has been mentioned before as a possible transfer.
