Emily Post Question

Post by EastStang »

My nephew's high school graduation is this week. He is blowing off his commencement ceremony because he joined a band and they have a gig in New York. Now my etiquette question, do I have to buy him a graduation present?

Only if he sent out announcements of his pending graduation.

I say you send him a card letting him know that you got him a gift, but that you returned it because you wanted to spend the money on yourself instead.
The donkey's name is Kiki.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

was the present for what he has achieved the last 4 years or because he went to his commencement?

I suspect he'll be getting plenty of free gifts on his gig.

Buy him something he can use with his band, like an amp or a tattoo. Covers both bases.

Send him Kelan Luker's phone number.

Thanks for all your many good suggestions. He's a drummer by the way, not a singer or a guitar player. My wife and I decided to send him a gift.
