Josh LeRibeus: CLEARING A PATH

Postby PonyPride » Sun Jun 21, 2009 12:05 am

As is the case with any first-year system, the Mustangs' Run-and-Shoot offense had its inconsistencies in 2008. But the young offensive line, operating in its first year out of the two-point stances taught by offensive coach Dennis McKnight, fared relatively well, especially considering the youth of the unit.

One of four freshmen to earn considerable playing time in 2008, left guard Josh LeRibeus, visited with PonyFans.com to discuss the learning curve he endured in 2008, and how the continued improvement of the big guys up front will pave the way for a more potent offensive attack in 2009.

Great article, I really ope these lads can lead the way this season. I know they won't be perfect, but they were not the problem last year that we feared they would be, and they seem to be better this year. Fingers crossed.

Nice story.
I've got great hopes for Josh. I remember watching him crack skulls in high school, and I'm ready to see him do the same for SMU.

Little confused here and have gotten a little lazy with checking the boards. But is this a recent interview because I understand Josh has been MIA in summer workouts.

Lazy checking the boards? Where are your priorities?????

That was from an interview shortly after the Red/Blue game.

I think that therein lies the problem. Where other teams have "O" lines....however we have an "o" line.

did you not read that josh has to get down from 340+ to 325 to 315?

280lb centers are usually found in the NFL, and as a true freshman, blake was at 263lbs...

none of these guys are small

No way Blake McJunkin was 263. If I remember right, he was listed at 256, and a couple of his teammates said that was even a generous estimate.

I have heard he's significantly stronger and bigger now — maybe even up to 263?

So what is the story with Josh. From what I have read, he has been MIA for the summer workouts. Is he still on the team or is he contemplating "early" retirement? (I hope NOT!)
