Welllllll... isn't that special. we expect a full report.
I'll let you know. Should be a great time with the family.
I have never given you a hard time about any of the things you have said even though I have disagreed with some of them. But for some reason this bothers me. You are going to take your family to the Ark/A&M game instead of the SMU game. Probably just me but I have a real problem with that. You must have an excellent reason why you are snubbing the Mustangs for the Aggies. Please explain.
Jeez, he already did. His wife is an Arkansas grad and wants to go. She asked him to take her. He's being a good husband. A guy who does not understand that is either single or not a good husband. No more explanation is needed.
That's why I added the sorry on the bottom. You must have replied before you saw it. Like I said, easier to understand but being a good husband does have it's limits.
When will I start feeling stimulated??

I did respond before you edited.
And an SMU football game should never be put ahead of family, but that's just my opinion.

The cool thing is that her sister, who lives in Fayetteville (I absolutely love that area up there), and her husband just got their tickets for the game and will be coming down. So it should be a lot of fun.

Please don't. If we cared about that game, or wanted to go to JerryWorld, we would. We're PonyFans, not Pig Fans or Ag Fans.
That's super-swell that you're going to have a good time with the family. Be sure to bring your own still to the game, because concessions at JerryWorld should run pretty high. Enjoy the traffic.
OTP: Yes, we're playing Froggy High that day, and we're going to make it far more interesting than many skeptics think. I'm not ready to call a win, but we will be better this year, and the Frogs will be worse. Losing all three starting linebackers and SS Stephen Hodge will hurt  not that they don't have good players ready to step in, but that's a ton of experience and leadership and production gone from that D.

Let me get this straight……
SMU has a tremendous problem with fan support…well documented, no need to expand on that fact.
The General / Sarge / Cpt Crunch / Gomer / whatever you want to call him… is undoubtedly one the most die-hard fans this school has.
Sarge (as I like to call him) gets called out for going to Jerry World to see the 1st SWC game ever played there????
Unbelievable…. he doesn’t have to defend his actions to anyone…..and regardless of how you feel about his wacky positions….this school desperately needs 10,000 more of him.

And an Arkansas game should never be put ahead of family either. Cuts both ways.

I agree, but when it's time to give in somebody has to do it. I think it's a good thing to defer to the wife every now and again.

I can agree with you on that. And since he said other family was coming down to the game, it probably tilts in her favor.

I support General's decision in going with his wife. Together we have sat thru bad SMU football since 1989 and the Houston disaster so I think he has earned the right to miss one game. Believe me it gets harder and harder to invest the time and money to travel to see some of the football seen over the last 20 years.
I am married to an Aggie (that was close to a deal breaker) but I hope the Hogs beat them. A Hog victory may help the General in even more ways if you know what I mean.

Either way, they'll be a ton of old red pickup trucks on I-30 that weekend. And Dueling Banjos will be playing on their 8 track players.

We only use two linebackers, and rotated three players in all year long last year. One of those will return this year as well as Jerry Hughes, pre-season All-American. You can be assured that Patterson will have his defense ready. Our offense should be much improved with most of the starters coming back this year. SMU could very well be improved this year, but playing in Fort Worth had proven tough for all teams lately.

At least we got ample warning that the General will not be there. Who is next on the waiting list for tickets. We need to let them know there is room for more.
