Well, University of Mary who offered is a D-2 program with a physical therapy major. And University of Souix Falls is an NAIA national Champion. They list athletics before academics on their homepage. Something for SMU to consider in the one case, and to have as a goal in the other.
Good luck to this Dakotan who is a long way from home.

i have followed university of iowa football for a long time and these are the type of players that get turned into nfl stars because of their work ethic and persaverience. some of the guys that come to mind are gallery, chad greenway, dallas clark, just to name a few

I guess this is a year for unusual packages from small places.
Here we have mention of Alex Kling from Belle Fourch HS in SD, enrollment 439. He is to enroll at SMU (perhaps has) and walk on. Elsewhere there is talk of Pat Faulk from Kerens, ADA 212 (Class 2A) who has shown interest in SMU and had a good junior year per DCTF. Finally there is Traylon Shead from Cayuga, ADA 168 (Class A) who has been offered by and is committed to Texas. Shead had great junior year and gets a feature page in DCTF.
I hope all of these kids have good seasons but that Kling and Faulk excell and the latter also attends SMU.
If the Belle Fourche enrollment (per internet) article translates to a similar ADA I suppose it would be a small 3A school if ir were in Texas. In that light 1-A college participation is a little less unlikely. And I don't know, I'm asking. Are any players on the current roster at SMU from 3A programs? Who was the last 3A player at SMU to make a splash?

Wasn't Sealy a 3A school that sent a certain running back our way?
