Dement's status at SMU

My two cents...

Barring a huge WAC tourney upset victory for SMU and an NCAA birth, here is my opinion on SMU.

This was THE YEAR. Sasser and Davis are seniors, we have Hancock and Q. A legit but not too hard schedule.

We blew it.

I think Dement has peaked at SMU. He has gone as far as he can, and that is the NIT.

I think he has lost control of the team or never had control. The players don't respect him and he lets them get away with too much. There were two articles in the DMN that portray this and the rest you can gather by word of mouth.

I think Dement has done a decent job getting things were they are, but if he were to leave to take another job, I would not be upset--even though he does win the bowl hair cut of the year award and the Lyod Christmas look alike contest.(Jim Carrey's character in Dumb and Dumber)

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think SMU basketball has peaked under Mike Dement.

I agree. I would just be worried we get another John Schumate or something...UGH!
If the kids don't respect him....you have a problem. He lost them I think. There is no sense of team unity or chemistry.
