Other looked like Padron, but I'm not sure. Good arm...timing was a little off. Happens to high school QBs when they hit college...those who can adjust more quickly to the speed of the college game play earlier. Every time I've watched BLM in a practice situation, he seems sharp.

Hey, that's a pretty good marketing slogan for this program.
Geez JT, that's just downright cynical! I know you wax hesitant vis-a-vis success this year, but c'mon. Let's reserve some judgment until at least two-a-days before going that route. When you go into a courtroom, do you visualize losing or winning?

Not cynical, just funny.

Lets just hope that the intensity and commitment that JJ is looking for is present from the get-go this season. I know we still have many areas of concern, but I will be thrilled for the team if the effort and commitment, and preparation is there.

So...........you're saying this club with June Jones at the helm isn't committed enough?

We'll find out this fall if they are.

I'm guessing you're feeding off Stallion's insistence that they don't hit enough. That may (or may not) be true but it doesn't mean that they're not working phenomenally hard (or not). To me, the body of evidence so far suggests these guys are working really hard, they know their attitudes and work ethic will affect whether their scholarships are renewed, their athletic ability will affect the renewal of their scholarships, we hear from guys like Viloria that everyone's working harder than ever, anecdotal evidence suggests these guys realize there's a boss who doesn't take crap and that there's an established and respected pecking hierarchy versus in the Bennett days...
Evidence for a country club environment include less than "normal" levels of hitting, coaches who try not to be verbally abusive and who have pretty casual personalities. The good thing about sports is that we keep score and will know soon enough about your inferences.

I don't have any inside knowledge about how the workouts are going. My point is that there better be some darn good work going on in there. I don't even know what kind of contact they can have if any. And really I don't care about that. There's a lot more ways to get it done.
The country club comments go back to the Bennett days and I hope it is evaporating. I have long since maintained that if you are going to have something worth looking at on the field, it better get fixed off the field first. And that's a fact.

What the hell are you talking about? Every time I saw practice during the Bennett years, the guys were hitting the hell out of each other, where as JJ practices rarely have any hitting. How was the Bennett era a "country club" environment?

Insurrection might have been a big problem during the end of the PB days but not country club attitude...pretty combative from what i heard

There better be outstanding attendance for these workouts complimented by a work ethic to match. If not, then we're wasting our time in 2009.

2008: 1-11
Did we do enough in those summers prior to the season? The records speaks for themselves.
