Athlon Names Robinson, Sanders No. 1, No 3 WR in C-USA

1. Aldrick Robinson, SMU (JR) — Bye Week: 4 — No. 3 overall WR
There's no shortage of potential for the SMU offense in 2009. With quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell expected to improve under center and Robinson and Emmanuel Sanders returning, the Mustangs should have no trouble putting up points. Robinson entered last season with 10 career catches and nearly eclipsed that mark in the 2008 season opener, catching seven receptions for 91 yards and two scores. A late season, two-game suspension prevented Robinson from moving his totals closer to the 70 catch and 15 touchdown mark, but fantasy owners can expect another solid year and numbers among the top 10 receivers.
2008 stats - 200.2 fantasy points
Receiving: 59 rec., 1,047 yds., 11 TDs
Rushing: none

2. DeAndre Brown, Southern Mississippi

3. Emmanuel Sanders, SMU (SR) — Bye Week: 4 — No. 9 overall WR
There was some concern about Sanders' fantasy value heading into this year, after reports the coaching staff was trying him out at defensive back. Although Sanders will play some defense, particularly in nickel situations, he will see plenty of time on offense. The senior has caught nine touchdowns in each of the last three seasons, but should finally eclipse double digits in 2009. With quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell and Aldrick Robinson returning at receiver, the Mustangs will have a much-improved offense in 2009. Expect Sanders to catch over 60 passes for at least 1,000 yards.

Just as many of you predicted when June was hired, our receivers and qb's are going to put out fantastic numbers. I think our RB's will also when we step up our recruiting. This year could be a real turnaround year for our offense.

I certainly hope so. More points on the board, coupled with a small improvement in D should translate into some more Ws.

In the last two years, we just haven't had the speed at RB, this offense (or any other) requires. This year could improve.

I think Cole Loftin is the best of our slot receiver choices.
