[quote="PerunaPunch"]I've stated, I concur with you that Coach Jones is a much better evaluator of talent than the recruiting services.[/quote}

PP,
I never said he was better than the recruitng services just some of the individuals that post opinions. It just bothers me when people bash the rating services and then use them to prove a point. I am not anti recruiting service as I know some on this board are. I respect both.
I look forward to seeing him in a Mustang uniform. Anyway, everyone have a good day! :D

I was extremely surprised that they were so hard in their comments about Bennett. Both said how much the team despised him and went on and on about it. In fact the only coach that they liked during their senior year was Rusty Burns, who they felt had a fantastic offensive mind that Phil would constantly overrule. The rest they didn't feel would have qualified for a good Texas' high school program. They liked a couple of coaches in their first two years, but again claimed Phil ran them off. Like I said, I was surprised at the depth of their feelings against Phil.
same stuff I've heard from various players, the funny thing was how the media portrayed him as such a nice guy - good PR lesson

Bennett was more than a nice guy. I'll go so far as to say he was a super guy. If you ever met him, he's the kind of guy you'd give your left arm or first born to play for.

What I heard later, but never personally experienced, is that (especially toward the end) he really got on some players and berated them. That kind of thing motivates certain personality types and pisses off others. I think toward the end, certain players had had enough.

I like this quote from Kull's link.

ESPN's Tom Luginbill said of the news, "What a steal this is for June Jones and his offense. Kaiser is a prospect that we feel has been under-valued by many and has a chance to blossom into a fine college signal-caller. We feel he has the tools and make-up to be a great fit for Jones' version of the run and shoot."
