I would have been more convinced if the rumor had said that McCoy was going to front a rap group or a country western band.

I agree. Many times, where there's smoke there's fire. Doherty missed an opportunity put this fire out by not affirmatively negating it. Hell the original poster said it was a rumor, we already knew that.
I had the same feeling.
When will I start feeling stimulated??

I'm so tired of the cloak and dagger crap coming out of this program. One day there will be stability in it. I just may not be alive to see it.

First of all this was a post by PonyPride summarizing what was told to him secondhand and not a direct quote from Doherty...however, the complete statement in PonyPride's post reads "...this is JUST A RUMOR and nothing more." Which to me is equivalent to saying it's not true.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

predicting your own death in 3-4 years is quite morbid...

Paul McCoy will be in a Mustangs uniform in 2009-2010, unless an unforseen event occurs.

Somehow I have a bad feeling about all this, but I sure hope you're right.

Speculating on a player transferring is well beyond the realm of being a good fan (or any sort of fan at all). It is obstructionist and a pathetic use of time.
Why should anyone expect a coach (Doherty or otherwise) to spend time confirming or denying rumors that circulate on this message board, or the millions of other boards filled with mindless comments? That is in no way a productive use of his efforts.

Why are you being [deleted] dramatic? If he's here, he's here. If he's not, he's not. How freakin' difficult is that?

Not sure how dramatic "[deleted]" dramatic is, but I don't really see how I was being dramatic at all. That was my opinion based on what I heard that I don't think he's coming back. You don't have to take any stock in it if you don't want to. So I agree with you that it's not too freakin difficult...
P.S. Just got the "[deleted]" statement...good way around the censors...I like it!
