Mitch Enright: WELL-CENTERED

Postby PonyPride » Tue Jul 21, 2009 4:06 pm

It was widely documented that the SMU Mustangs were one of the youngest teams in the country last year, and that team will be even younger in 2009. The SMU roster is filled with freshmen and sophomores who, while talented, still need to mature physically and develop the consistency enjoyed by older, more mature players.

That is not the case with center Mitch Enright, who is preparing to battle for the starting job once more as he enters his final season on the Hilltop. With a surgically healed hand, a college degree and a new wife, Enright said some of his teammates consider him an "old man," but that doesn't mean he's willing to give up the starting center spot just yet.

Fantastic story. Maybe your best yet.
I've always been a fan of Mitch's. Hope he has a great (and healthy) senior season.

Could win a lot of games with a team full of guys with the character and work ethic Mitch has.

Maybe Mitch can play out this year healthy and McJunkin can red shirt.

That would be cool. Nice to know we have two good centers.

That's actually not a bad idea. I can't imagine it happening, but not a bad idea at all. As light as McJunkin was last year, and I assume still is, it couldn't hurt to have another year in the weight room (and cafeteria) for him to get bigger and stronger.
