I know that and everybody knows that. But historically it's been a "wait 'til next year" mentality at this school and its just frustrating as hell to hear it again. And for someone to come onto a freaking message board and vent their frustrations (which for my money is exactly what message boards are for) and to be hammered as "negative" by incessant koolaid drinkers like inane pony pusse is ridiculous. Truly negative people don't care and wouldn't be here.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

"No, dumb@ss"

Wow....whats up with the anger?

"as usual the point went right over your pointed head"

No it absolutely did not....as will be shown below.

"Your previous statement had nothing to do with getting him here, it had to do with paying him:That was dead wrong"

No it was 100% correct.

"Orsini is not paying him out of his own pocket"

Well Duh and none of the AD's of the other schools listed pay their coaches out of their pockets either. They all come up with ways to "getter done"....but when SMU "gets it done" you want to pee on the parade and not give Orsini/Turner any credit as if it would have all just fell in to place without them. Yeah sure......

"And if the athletic department contributes to his salary, it ain't very much"

June Jones paychecks say SMU on them. SMU pays June Jones his salary. Steve Orsini/President Turner put the deal together that make that possible whether you want to admit that or not....it is a fact and is reality.

The guy asked a question in this thread and I answered it.

Sure JT we've got plenty, plenty, plenty, of negative news....hell everyone knows that.....but every once in awhile when a rare positive thing is mentioned here comes the DOOM & GLOOM CALVARY racing in to stop that train......yeah they want it 100% Negative.....90% negative isnt enough!

You and the other miserable doom and gloomers cant stand it when in a rare instance SMU is shown in a good light...like taking a huge step last year and hiring a big name Top 25 Salary in all of football coach to here.

Nope can't stand it.....hey instead of admitting the SMU program stepped up to the plate......lets post how bad it was last year in the new high paid coaches first year of trying to turn around this nightmare and imply we are getting jipped.....keep it 100% negative and you'll be happy?

Well, I have met both of you guys at our Special Delivery camp. and both of you seem to be good guys. Jt actually seems pretty laid back, and InsanePony seems pretty intense, but a good guy as well. I'm starting to worry you guys are going to show up at the same time, it could get ugly!

It's all in the family....at least I hope JT feels that way too.
We are like brothers (smu brothers) that are polar opposites....
but hey when the game starts we are both SMU fans.

I've met 'em both too. I agree with your assessment. A lot of times I've found that people in person come across differently than on the board.

Of course it's all in the family. If not for SMU we'd have nothing.
