I only heard it from Coach Jones' mouth with my own two ears: he's not suspended.

I heard he missed practices not because he was selfish or stupid but because he was thinking about quitting. Please don't call him selfish or stupid unless you know him and slow down with the scoreboarding - his correlation with skipping practices isn't causation of anything.

Can we call him quitter?

Good. Then I guess he can come to practice if he wishes. I will assume that Coach Jones was stating Josh would not show up until school due to Josh's wishes and not due to edict from Jones. That would be a good thing if Josh were to rededicate himself to the team.

I have been hesitant to post this because I am not really certain how accurate it is, but I heard a rumbling that Josh showed up for camp, was sent home, but told he could rejoin the team when school started.

Didn't post that one either, for obvious reasons - one report said he had lost weight and looked good, the other said he was still fat and out of shape.

fair enough. I feel he can be a valuable contributor on the team. i wish the young man the best whether he stays with football or not. we dont know his state of mind or intentions. however it plays out, JJ has the situation under grasp. He and Josh know the matter.

Here's probably the deal. SMU is limited to 105 players that can show on the first day of drills. Lereibus didn't respond to Jones to confirm he would be one of those 105 first day reporters. Since he didn't Jones submitted another name on the list to report the first day. Since Josh showed up after the list was complete, Josh can not show up until the first day of classes until NCAA Rules.

Sounds logical to me. That way what mr.pony says is correct and Josh was still told he could not come to practice while not being suspended.

Although I would imagine that if jones wanted him there and if Josh wanted to be there, something could be worked out. I am sure there is a certain red shirt or two at practice that could be asked to stay away until school started. Is the coach required to submit a list that stands until school starts?

I have a feeling it will be quite a few games before he starts this year.

Josh can't be added to the 105 roster once it is set per NCAA rules. Only if there is an injury to a player and that player can not perform due to his injury/injuries can another player be added to the original 105 list. June must have known ahead of time that Josh would not be available for early camp or he would not be placed on the original 105 practice list.

Are we sure there are currently 105 at camp?
